"Inden" is a traditional craft from Koshu (Yamanashi) with a tradition of over 400 years, in which patterns are applied to deerskin with lacquer. It is a leather product made by processing deerskin, and unlike simply using tanned hides, the leather is dyed after tanning and then patterns are drawn with lacquer.
